Zakat Policy
One Light International accepts and administers Zakat in accordance with our Board-adopted Zakat Policy.

How your Zakat is handled
- Zakat is held separately. Zakat funds are segregated from our general funds. They are never pooled with general donations.
- Zakat reaches individuals, not programs. It is distributed to new Muslims who are in need or carrying debt — recipients falling under the Qur’anic categories of the poor and the needy, and the debt-burdened.
- Zakat does not fund dawah. None of it is spent on our dawah activities.
- One hundred percent reaches its recipients. No portion of Zakat is ever taken for administration, overhead, salaries, or fundraising costs.
